4th Ashes Test: ENG vs AUS Day 1 Highlights On a day marked by Stuart Broad’s 600 wickets, England would be the happier team despite Australia finishing on 299/8.

Highlights from Day 1 of the Fourth Ashes Test between England and Australia: Stuart Broad picked up his 600th Test wicket as Australia closed the first day of the Manchester Test at 299/8, making him a legendary and uncommon cricketer. The best English bowler was Chris Woakes, who took 4/52, including an over with two wickets and one straight with the second new ball. Most of Australia’s top order hitters received starts, but only Usman Khawaja and Mitchell Marsh were able to turn those starts into half-centuries. The action went according to plan as England captain Ben Stokes won the toss once more and decided to bowl. Even though Australia scored more than 4 runs per over for the majority of the day, England was able to stop their innings thanks to Broad’s two wickets, Mark Wood’s one, and Moeen Ali’s one each.
